2017 ALA Annual Conference Chicago - June 22-27

As libraries transform from collection centered to people centered spaces to meet 21st Century user demands, they must often be modified. One fiscally responsible choice can be to renovate existing—and often boxy and uninspired--library structures or to move into and modify storefront locations. Reimagining these spaces and making them suitable for contemporary use requires many considerations in design, engineering, and branding, which this session will address

Join us at the 2017 ALA Annual Conference at Chicago McCormick Center on Saturday, June 24th with MEP's Robert Aschenbrenner, PE along with a panel of librarians, architects, and engineer will discuss how to transform old square spaces into flexible and sustainable people-centric showcases.
