MEP Announces Next Big Project Endeavor

MEP Associates, LLC (MEP) is pleased to announce our next big project endeavor: Master Planning and Schematic Design of a new Central Energy Plant (CEP) for Ford Motor Company's Dearborn Campus Transformation in Dearborn, MI. The 10-year transformation encompasses the new central energy plant (CEP), campus distribution systems, and phased replacement of existing Research and Engineering Buildings.

Collaborating with Ford, MEP is extending the efforts of SmithGroup/JJR to optimize the development of a low entropy campus with a highly efficient CEP. The CEP will be the cornerstone of the low entropy design, which seeks to displace an aging campus central steam system with a large geothermal system, low temperature water-based energy distribution loops, and on-site electrical generation via combined heat and power.
