MEP worked with an area nursing home on their campus master planning for renovations and upgrades of the existing facility, as well as new additions and expansions to the campus. These included a site study; kitchen remodel and dining room addition, and expansion to the skilled nursing facility (SNF).
The initial concept of the SNF revolved around the idea of limiting neighborhood size with decentralized care services, infusion of natural light by way of multiple courtyards, and an attractive community presence through a separately accessed wellness center.
The project included a 16-unit CBRFs, a 50 bed skilled nursing facility and 12 independent living apartments.
Working with the area nursing home on how to best plan their new facilities included; site analysis and selection, construction manager selection process, programming, and planning, working with staffing ratios to ensure lean staff flow, analysis of facility size to match operational needs, and performance.
